WEEK 26 Monday, March 10th 2025 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 50 REVIEW 3: PHIL AND SUE Listen and repeat, Look and circle A.OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Listen and repeat the story. - Vocabulary: Revision - Structures: Revision - Skills: Reading and writing. 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: - Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love story Phil ans Sue, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Game: Vietnamese whisper. *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: - Divide the class into groups - SS listen and play - Choose the leader of each group game. - Explain the rule: The leader of each group goes to the board and read the words which T gives in silence. After that they go back and whisper the words with their groups. The last person of each group will go to board and write all the words on the board - After finishing the game, the group writes down all correct words is a winner -SS open their book. - T gets feedback. - Say “Open your book page 20 and look at Review 1- Phil and Sue Activity 1. 1. Listen and repeat. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the story. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pictures. Ask them some questions about the -Look at the picture and pictures: Who are in the pictures? listen. What are they doing?... Then have pupils guess the content of the story. - Have pupils look at Picture 1, saying Look at Picture 1, please!and describe -SS listen and say the picture. Draw pupils’ attention to the boy, the girl and the bubbles. - Let pupils listen to the recording, point to the sentence in the speech -Ss do the task. bubble and repeat, saying Now listen, point to the sentence and repeat, please! Check comprehension. - Follow the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. Correct -Ss repeat pronunciation, if necessary. Give further support to those pupils who - Ss point and say find it difficult to do the task. - Play the recording of the whole story several times and have pupils listen, point to the sentences in the speech -Ss tell their answer in bubbles and repeat until they feel front of class confident. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Have pupils work in pairs, look at the pictures and read aloud the story. Go around to help or/and correct pronunciation. - Play the recording again and invite a few pairs of pupils to listen to the recording and repeat the story in front of the class, Activity 2. 2. Look and circle : *Aims: Ss will be able to identify the words for the pictures by circling them. *Procedure: - Explain how to do the task, saying Look at the pictures, find and circle the words, please! - Ask them to identify the thing/animals, -Ss listen. -Ask pupils to repeat the words several times -Ss listen and answer -Ss listen and repeat - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and circle the words in the chain. -Ss do the task - Ask pupils to work in pairs and swap their work -Ss work in pairs - Invite some pupils to show what they have done. -Ss listen - Praise them if they have done well, saying You did very well! or Great job! * Keys: sun, mouse, Mary, lemons - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen Friday, March 14th 2025 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 51 REVIEW 3: SELF –CHECK Listen and tick, Listen and circle Listen and tick or cross A. OBJECTIVES: 1. Knowledge: Phonics: the sound of the letters o, m, u, l Vocabulary: locks, clocks, mops, pots mango, monkey, mother, mouse bus, running, sun, truck Lucy, lake, leaf, lemons Structures: That’s a _____. (introducing one thing) _____’s running. (describing what someone is doing) Look at _____. (using the imperatives) - Skills: reading, writing and listening, speaking 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Listen and tick. *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and tick the correct boxes. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at Picture 1 (saying -Look at the picture and Look at Picture 1, please! What can listen. you see? Can you see a bus and a truck?). Ask them to say what they can see. Draw pupils’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. Check comprehension. - Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class, saying Point to the pictures and say, please! E.g. 1a: a bus, 1b: a truck. - Before playing the recording, say Are you ready? OK, now listen and tick, please! Play the recording twice or more, if needed. Ask pupils to listen and tick the correct boxes. Give further support to those pupils who -Ss listen. find it difficult to do the task. -Ss do the task. - Set a time limit for pupils to swap -Ss check. and check the answers. Correct the answers, if necessary. - Invite some pupils to the front of the class to point to the pictures and say what they have heard *Keys: 1.b 2. a 3.b Activity 2. 2. Listen and circle: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and identify the sounds by circling the -Ss look and say. letters. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pairs of letters. Explain the task, saying Listen to the sound and circle the letter. -Ss work in pair Check comprehension. - Ask pupils to work in pairs to point -Ss listen and circle to the letters in each pair and say the sounds, saying Point to the letters and -SS check say, please! - Play the recording, ask pupils to listen and circle the letters of the -Ss say in front of class sounds. - Ask pupils to swap and check the answers. Play the recording again for them to check, if necessary. Give the correct answers. - Invite some pupils to say the sounds they have listened *Keys: 1- . b 2. a 3. c 4. d Activity 3. 3. Listen and tick or cross: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, recognize the words and put a tick or a cross in the box under each picture -Ss look and listen. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at Picture 1 and follow the same procedure with the other three pictures. - Invite some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class - Draw pupils’ attention to the box under Picture 1. Before playing the recording, say Are you ready? Play the first sentence and have pupils do -Ss look and say. the task, saying OK, now listen and tick or cross, please! -Ss do the task. - Follow the same procedure with the other three pictures. Play the recording twice or more if needed, ask -Ss listen and tick/ cross pupils to listen and put a tick or a cross. Give further support to those -Ss check pupils who find it difficult to do the . task. - Set a time limit for pupils to swap and check the answers.
