Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk
Let’s sing
A. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
- use “___’s running.” to talk about what someone is doing at the moment.
- sing a song with the structures “It’s a ____.” and “The boy is ____.”
- Vocabulary: Revision
- Skills: speaking and listening
2. Competences:
- Know how to sing exactly.
- Know how to practise some sounds.
- Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work.
3. Attitude/ Qualities:
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class.
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning
English
B. METHODS:
- Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer.
- Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by
visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction.
C. TEACHING AIDS:
- Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector.
- Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things.
D. PROCEDURES:

Sing a song
*Aims: to create a friendly and
active atmosphere in the class to
beginning the lesson.
*Procedure:
- Greet the class and introduce - SS say: Hello. I’m + name.

chant on page 15 in front of the
class. The class claps hands. -Ss open their book.
- Get pupils to open their books and
look at Lesson 3 (saying Open the

*Procedure:
- Have pupils look at the bubble. -Look at the picture and

*Procedure:
- Have pupils read the first, the third,
Ss read the song
the fifth and the seventh lines of the
lyrics. Explain the meaning of the
numbers.
- Ask pupils to point to the first line.
-Ss listen and sing the first line
Play the recording for them to listen
and repeat for several times.
- Follow the same procedure with
-Ss listen, sing the first line
the third, the fifth and the seventh
lines of the lyrics. Check
pronunciation, the tune and the
melody of the song, if necessary.
-Ss listen, sing the other lines
- Have pupils point to the second
and clap their hands
line. Play the recording for them to

- pronounce the sound of the letter L/l in isolation and in the words lake,
leaf, lemons and Lucy correctly.

- Vocabulary: lake, leaf, lemons and Lucy
- Skills: speaking and listening.

- Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work.
- Know how to practise some sounds.

*Aims: Ss will be revise the words
they have learnt through the game

. *Procedure:
- Tell pupils that they are going to -Ss look and listen.
look at the objects (the leaf, lemon,
bus, truck, car, book, bag, box, ....)
for 60 seconds and then write -Ss listen
down the names of the objects as
quickly and correctly as possible.
Explain how the game is played. -Ss play game.
Check comprehension.
- Arrange the objects on the desk and
cover them with a piece of cloth. Do
not let pupils see what are beneath
the piece of cloth.
- Divide the class into groups. Do
not allow pupils to write anything
down.
- Show the objects under the piece of -Ss listen
cloth for 60 seconds. Then cover
them again. In their groups, the
pupils try to write down the name
of as many objects as they can
remember.
- Have the groups swap their
answers and count the number of
items they have written with correct
spelling.
-Ss listen.
- Practice more at home.
- Prepare for the next lesson.
