WEEK 24 Monday, February 24th 2025 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 46 Unit 11: At the bus stop Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “___’s running.” to talk about what someone is doing at the moment. - sing a song with the structures “It’s a ____.” and “The boy is ____.” - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure: - Greet the class and introduce - SS say: Hello. I’m + name. yourself, saying: Hi. I’m + name. - Have a group of pupils to sing the -Ss listen and sing chant on page 15 in front of the class. The class claps hands. -Ss open their book. - Get pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3 (saying Open the books and look at lesson 3, please!). Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentences ”He’s running.”, ”She’s running. *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture. -Look at the picture and listen. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structures ”It’s a ____.” and ”The boy is ____. *Procedure: - Have pupils read the first, the third, Ss read the song the fifth and the seventh lines of the lyrics. Explain the meaning of the numbers. - Ask pupils to point to the first line. -Ss listen and sing the first line Play the recording for them to listen and repeat for several times. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen, sing the first line the third, the fifth and the seventh lines of the lyrics. Check pronunciation, the tune and the melody of the song, if necessary. -Ss listen, sing the other lines - Have pupils point to the second and clap their hands line. Play the recording for them to listen and repeat individually and in chorus. - Follow the same procedure with -Ss listen and sing all the song the fourth, the sixth and the eighth lines. -Ss sing in front of the class - Play the recording all the way through for class to sing the song and clap their hands - If there is enough time, select some pupils to the front of the class to sing the song. - The class may sing along and clap their hands. - Practice more at home. -Ss listen. - Prepare for the next lesson. Friday, February 28th 2025 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 47 Unit 12: At the lake Lesson 1: Listen and repeat, Point and say Fun corner A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - pronounce the sound of the letter L/l in isolation and in the words lake, leaf, lemons and Lucy correctly. - Sound /D/d/ - Vocabulary: lake, leaf, lemons and Lucy - Skills: speaking and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. 3. Draw pupils’ attention to the letter -Look at the picture and listen. L/l, the words next to the things/pet and the colour of the letter L/l. Check comprehension. - Ask pupils to point to the letter L/l, saying Look at letter L/l. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter L/l - Tell pupils to point to the door and the word door -Point, listen and repeat. - Repeat the same procedure with the words desk, dog and duck. - Play the recording again and have -Ss listen, point and repeat. them listen, point to the letter L/l and the words Lucy, leaf, lemons, lake and repeat until they feel confident. Activity 3. *Play the game: Kim’s game *Aims: Ss will be revise the words they have learnt through the game Kim’s game . *Procedure: - Tell pupils that they are going to -Ss look and listen. look at the objects (the leaf, lemon, bus, truck, car, book, bag, box, ....) for 60 seconds and then write -Ss listen down the names of the objects as quickly and correctly as possible. Explain how the game is played. -Ss play game. Check comprehension. - Arrange the objects on the desk and cover them with a piece of cloth. Do not let pupils see what are beneath the piece of cloth. - Divide the class into groups. Do not allow pupils to write anything down. - Show the objects under the piece of -Ss listen cloth for 60 seconds. Then cover them again. In their groups, the pupils try to write down the name of as many objects as they can remember. - Have the groups swap their answers and count the number of items they have written with correct spelling. -Ss listen. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
