WEEK 22 Monday, February 10th 2025 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 42 Fun time 3 Trace and colour. Then point and say. Let’s play! A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - say the words they have learnt with correct pronunciation. - imitate the upper case letters O and M and the lower case letters o and m, using body positions - Vocabulary: ball, bike, book. - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Sing the Chant *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Procedure: - Ask pupils to sing the chant in Unit 10. Divide the class into two teams and each sings - SS listen and chant the chant aloud. Then ask one team to read a line, and the other team to read the following line. - Have pupils open their books and -SS open their book. look at Fun time 3, Activity 1 Activity 1. 1. Trace and colour. Then point and say. *Aims: Ss be able to revise the words clocks, mops, monkey and mouse. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pictures and explain what to do, saying Trace and -Look at the picture and say. colour the pictures, please! Model with the first picture, if necessary. - Ask pupils to trace the pictures and -Ss trace the pictures and colour them individually. Give further colour support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. -Ss work in pairs and compare their work - Have pupils work in pairs to compare their work and practise saying the words, saying Point to the pictures and say the words, please!Move around and correct their -Ss show their work and say in pronunciation, if necessary. front of class - Call some pupils to show their work, point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class. Activity 2 2. Let’s play: Simon says *Aims: Ss will be able to revise the upper case letters O and M as well as the lower case letters o and m, using their body positions. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the pictures. Ask -Look at the picture and listen them to explain how to play the game. Check pupils’ understanding by getting one pupil to repeat what they have to -Ss listen do. - Model the position of the first letter. Instruct pupils to imitate each position. Help them practise this position until they can remember. -Ss play a game. - Follow the same procedure with the other letters. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Have the whole class play the game, saying Let’s play, please! Ask one or -Ss listen two pupils to be the observer of the game. Give out the commands and monitor pupils to play the game. The pupils who cannot show the right position will be out and become the observers. - Divide the class into two teams. Each team plays the game. Give stars/points to the winner. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -SS listen. Friday, February 14th 2025 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 43 Fun time 3 Guess and write. Then say. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. 3. Match and say: *Aims: Ss will be able to revise some learnt phrases: two locks, three clocks, four pots, five monkeys. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the phrases -Ss listen and the pictures. Explain how to do the activity: Pupils look at each phrase on the left and elicit its meaning. Draw their attention to the numbers. Then pupils look at the pictures on the right and find one appropriate picture to match -Ss read and match the phrase. -Model the first phrase with the whole class. Have pupils read the phrase in the first question, saying Read the first phrase, please! Then ask pupils to say, e.g. five monkeys. Have them look at the pictures and ask them Which -Ss work in pair picture can you see five monkeys? Have them point to the picture with five monkeys and say the phrase (e.g. a. five monkeys). Ask -Ss read in front of the class. them to draw a line from the phrase to the suitable picture, saying Draw a line, please! - Follow the same procedure with Questions 2, 3 and 4. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Have pupils work in pairs to compare their work and practise saying the phrases. Move around and correct their pronunciation, if necessary. - Call some pupils to show their work and say the phrases in front of the class. Give comments and confirm the correct answers. Activity 2 4. Let’s play: Kim’s game *Aims: Ss will be able to revise some words they have learnt. *Procedure: - Explain how to play this game: -Look at the picture and read. Stick six pictures of things/people/animals on the board. -Ss listen Ask pupils to look carefully at the pictures for 30 seconds. Then put all of the pictures away and ask pupils to say -Ss play the game. out all the words represented by the pictures. - Stick the pictures of the words from Unit 9 to Unit 10 on the board. - Have pupils look at the pictures of the words for 30 seconds, saying Look at the pictures, please! - Put all of the pictures away and have pupils say out all the words. - Practice more at home. -Ss listen. - Prepare for the next lesson.
