WEEK 2 Monday, September 16th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 1 UNIT 1: IN THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND Lesson 3: Listen and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - recognize the words in different situations when listening. - use “Hi, I’m ___.” to greet and introduce someone’s name and “Bye, ____.” to say goodbye to someone. - sing a song with the structures “Hi, I’m ____.” and “Hi, ____. I’m _____. - Vocabulary: Review - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: 1.Warm- up: Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson *Procedure: - Greet the class and introduce yourself, saying: Hi. I’m + name. - Have a group of pupils to sing the chant on page 7 in front of the class. The class claps hands. - Get pupils to open their books and look at Lesson 3 p. 8 2. Practice Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentences “Hi, I’m Bill.” and “Bye, Bill *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture and describe it. - Have pupils look at the sentence “Hi, I’m Bill.”, saying Look at the sentence “Hi, I’m Bill.”, please! - Play the recording several times for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence. - Invite a few pupils to listen and repeat the sentence “Hi, I’m Bill.” in front of the class. - Play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. - Play the recording again and let pupils listen and repeat the sentence “Bye, Bill.” - Correct pronunciation to make sure pupils can repeat correctly the sentence Activity 2 7. Let’s talk: *Aims: Ss will be able to greet and introduce their names, using “Hi, I’m _____.” and to say goodbye to each other, using “Bye, _____.” *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture and ask them to describe the picture. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to practise greeting each other in the name of Bill and Ba - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to practise saying goodbye to each other in the name of Bill and Ba - Ask a few pairs of pupils to introduce themselves - Ask a few pairs of pupils to say goodbye to each other - Encourage some pairs of pupils to practise introducing themselves and saying goodbye to each other in front of the class. - Give feedback and praise. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structures “Hi, I’m ___ .” and“Hi, ___. I’m ___ *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the song and ask them to pay attention to the letter B/b and the word Bill. - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get familiarized with the tune - Play the recording again, ask pupils to listen and repeat the first line. Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. - Follow the same procedure with the other lines. Show pupils how to chant and clap their hands. - Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to listen and repeat the song individually and in chorus. - Select some pupils to the front of the class to sing and clap their hands. - If they sing the song well, praise them, saying Well done! or Very good 3. Homework - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson Friday, September 20th 2024 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 4 Unit 2: In the dining room Lesson1: Listen and repeat, Point and say, Fun corner A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - pronounce the sound of the letter C/c in isolation and in the words cake, car, cat and cup correctly - Sound /C,c/ - Vocabulary: cake, car, cat, cup - Skills: speaking and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. PROCEDURES: 1.Warm- up Sing a song *Aims: to create a friendly and active atmosphere in the class to beginning the lesson. *Procedure : -Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by asking the class to sing the song in Unit 1, Lesson 3 and clap their hands - Have pupils open their books and look at Unit 2, Lesson 1 2. Presentation Activity 1. 1. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to pronounce the sound of the letter C/c in isolation and in the words cake, car, cat and cup correctly *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picturesaying Look at the picture, please! Describe the picture. - Have them listen to the recording and repeat the sound of the letter C/c - Have pupils point to the cat and/or the word cat, listen to the recording and repeat the word cat - Follow the same procedure with the cake, car, cup. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Get pupils to listen to the recording again, pointing to the letter C/c, the words and the things/pet and repeating until they feel confident. - Invite a few pupils to pronounce the sound of the letter C/c and say the words cake, car, cup, cat in front of the class 3.Practice Activity 2 2. Point and say: *Aims: Ss will be able to point to the letter C/c, the cat and the things and say the sound of the letter C/c and the words cat, cake, car, cup. *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the picture again, saying Look at the picture on Page 9, please! Ask them to describe the picture again. - Get them to point to the letter C/c and say it - Let them point to car and say, saying Point to car and say, - Give further support to thosepupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Ask pupils to work in pairs or in groups to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter C/c and the words. - Invite some pupils to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class. - T gets feedback. Activity 3. *Play Pelmanism *Aims: Ss will be able to play the game Pelmanism *Procedure: - T prepares 4 cards (cake, car, cat, cup) and 4 pictures (cake, car, cat, cup) display on the board. + One with activities in the present tense. + The other with the same activities in the past tense - T explains the rule of the game + Share Ss into 2 groups + First, one player in each group shuffles the cards and says them face down on the table. + Each player in turn selects two cads and turn them over. + If the cards show the same activity in the present and past tenses, that player wins the pair and goes on to turn over another pair of cards. + If the cards show different activities, that player should turn them face down again and the next player has a turn. + The game ends when all the cards are gone + The winner is the player with the most pairs. - T check who’s winner 4. Homework - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson
