WEEK 14 Monday, December 09th 2024 S: 1CT2; 1BT3; 1AT4 Period: 27 Unit 7: In the garden Lesson 2: Listen and chant, Listen and tick, Look and trace A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - say the sound of the letter G/g and the words garden, girl, goat and gate in a chant. - recognize the words in different situations when listening. - trace the letter G/g - Vocabulary: review - Skills: speaking, writing and listening. 2. Competences: - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Know how to chant exactly. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students,love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. TEACHING AIDS: - Teacher: Posters, laptop, pictures, textbook, lesson plan, TV or projector. - Students: Textbooks, notebooks, workbooks, school things. D. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Check-up *Aims: to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1. *Procedure: - Ss say the letter and the - Ask pupils to look at the picture in sound. Check comprehension. - Play the recording of the first line for pupils to listen and to get familiarized with the tune, saying Listen to the first line, please! Then have them listen again and repeat the -Ss listen and chant sound of the letter g and the word goat individually and in, saying Listen and repeat, please! Follow the same procedure with -Ss chant and do action other lines. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. Show them how to chant and clap hands. -Ss chant in front of class - Play the recording all the way through again for pupils to listen and do choral and individual repetition, saying Listen and repeat, please! Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident, -Look at the picture and - Put the class into two groups to describe. practise chanting and clapping. Each group should sing one verse of the chant - Encourage some pupils to go to the front of the class to chant and clap their hands. The rest of the class may clap along to the rhythm. Activity 2 4. Listen and tick: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen, -Point and say recognize the words and tick the correct boxes. *Procedure: -Ss do the task. - Have pupils look at the first two pictures and say what they can see. Check comprehension - Encourage some pupils to point to the pictures and say the words in front of the class -Ss check. + Play the recording of the first sentence for pupils to hear. -Ss look and listen. + Point to the tick √ and ask pupils, saying What do you see? You see a tick? + After you hear the recording, say “gate” and you tick the box b, you - Ss listen give the right answer. So b is the correct answer. - Ss do the task. - Ask pupils to look at the last two pictures and listen. - Ask pupils to say what they have heard and ticked. *Keys: 1. b . gate 2. a. girl Activity 3. 5. Look and trace: *Aims: Ss will be able to trace the letter G/g (upper case and lower case). *Procedure: - Have pupils look at the letter G (upper case) and g (lower case). - Write the upper case G and the lower case g in broken lines on the -Ss listen board. -Ss trace the letters - Check to make sure pupils understand the letters written in solid lines and those in broken lines. - Tell pupils to trace the letter G/g -Ss show their work. - Check the results of pupils’ tracing and give feedback. - Ask some pupils to show what they have done. Praise them if they have -Ss listen. done well, saying Well done! or You’ve done a good job! - If there is enough time, write the letter G/g in broken lines on the -Ss listen. board and invite some pupils to trace them. - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. Friday, December 13th 2024 C: 1CT1; 1AT2; 1BT3 Period: 28 Unit 7: In the garden Lesson 3: Lesten and repeat, Let’s talk, Let’s sing A. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - use “There’s a _____.” to introduce something. - sing a song with the structure “There’s a _____ in the garden. - Vocabulary: Revision - Skills: speaking and listening 2. Competences: - Know how to sing exactly. - Know how to practise some sounds. - Co-operation: ready to help friends in pair work/ group work. 3. Attitude/ Qualities: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English B. METHODS: - Work in pairs, work in groups, ask and answer. - Communicative approach, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practicing, prediction. C. Introduce Lesson 3 Activity 1. 6. Listen and repeat: *Aims: Ss will be able to listen and repeat the sentence “There is a garden.” *Procedures: - Have pupils look at the picture of a garden and say What is it? It’s a -Look at the picture and listen. garden. Point to the picture and say There is a garden. Play the recording for pupils to listen. Explain the meaning of the sentence and how it is used. Check comprehension. -Listen and repeat. - Play the recording several times again for pupils to listen and repeat the sentence, saying Now listen and -Ss listen and repeat. repeat, please! - Invite a few pupils to repeat the -Ss say in front of the class. sentence “There is a garden.” in front of the class. Give further support to those pupils who find it difficult to do the task. - Select some pairs of pupils to practise introducing animal/things to each other in front of the class. Activity 3. 8. Let’s sing *Aims: Ss will be able to sing a song with the structure “I have a _____.” *Procedure: - Have pupils read the first verse to get familiarized themselves with the lyrics. Say Now read the first verse, -Ss look and listen. please! Check comprehension. - Play the recording several times for pupils to repeat line after line to -Ss listen and repeat. make sure that they can sing the verse correctly. -Ss listen and sing. - Follow the same procedure with the second verse. Correct pronunciation and the tune, the -Ss sing. rhythm and the melody of the song, if necessary. - Have pupils listen to the whole song, drawing their attention to the -Ss sing again pronunciation, the stress and the melody of the song. Say Now listen to the whole song, please! -Ss sing in front of the class - Let pupils practise singing the whole song. Say Now let’s sing, please! Praise them when they perform well, saying Excellent!. - Invite some pupils to sing the song in front of the class. The rest of the class sings along and claps their hands to reinforce the tune, the rhythm and the melody - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson. -Ss listen.
