5. Colour, write and say
I. OBJECTIVES:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Identify some learnt words unit 1, unit 2, unit 3, unit 4 and say them with
correct pronunciation.
- Role play dialogue betwwen Phil and Sue.
1. Knowledge/ Language focus:
- Sounds :/b/, /c/, /a/, /d/.
- Vocabulary: Bill, ball, bike, book
cake, car, cat, cup
hat, apple, can, bag
door, duck, dog, desk
-Sentence patterns:
+Hi, I’m + name. / Bye, Bill.
+ I have a _____.
+There’s a/an ___ in/on the ___.
+This is a _____. It’s on/ near the ___.
2. Skills:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Quality /Attitude:
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class.
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning English.
4. Competences:
SS can develop some competences:
-Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play:

-Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information
-Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and

IV. PROCEDURE:

Activity 1:Warm up:
*Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to
begin the new lesson.
*Procedure:
*Revising the sounds and words
- Show flashcards or the letters b, c, a, d. - SS say letter.
Have Ss say the letter names and the
letter sounds.
- Stick some flashcards including some
pictures of the words from Units 1 to -SS play Slap the board game.
Unit 4 on the board. Have Ss play Slap
the board in three minutes.
Activity 5. Colour the apple, the ball, the
cat and the dog. Then point and say.
*Aim: help Ss identify and colour the apple,
the ball, the cat and the dog.
*Procedure:
- Have Ss look at the letter and say the -SS look and say.
word: apple, ball, cat, dog.
-SS point and say.
-Encourage some Ss to point to the letter
and say the words in front of the class
- Ask ss to colour the pictures.
- Ss colour the pictures.
-Have time for ss to colour the pictures. -SS display
- Have ss to display their pictures.
- T gets feedback
*Outcome: identify and colour the apple,
the ball, the cat and the dog. Activity 4.Consolidation
- Asking Ps to focus on sounds and
vocabulary again. -SS listen.
Activity 5.Homelink
Practice more at home.

Period: 24 Unit 5: AT THE FISH AND CHIPS SHOP
Lesson 1: 1
I. OBJECTIVES:
- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
+ Remember and say some new words: chicken, chips, fish, milk.
+ Pronounce the sound of the letter: I/i
1. Knowledge/ Language focus:
- Vocabulary: chicken, chips, fish, milk.
- Sound: /i/
2. Skills:
- Listening and speaking.
3. Quality /Attitude:
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class.
Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something at the fish
and chips shop.
4. Competences:
SS can develop some competences:
-Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play:
work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play
-Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information
-Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and
guessing words/phrases

-Ask Ss to sing the song in Unit 4, Lesson 3 -SS listen ans answer. and make the gesture of a duck, a dog and a
desk when singing.
- Ask Ss some questions about their favourite
food and drinks, saying (in Vietnamese) What
food do you like? What drinks do you like?
Do you like fish? Do you like milk?
Activity 2. Listen and repeat:
*Aim: help Ss to pronounce the sound of the
letter I/i and remember and say some new
words: chicken, chips, fish, milk.
*Procedure: -Look at the picture and listen.
- Have Ss look at the picture and discribe the
picture. Draw Ss’ attention to the letter I/i, the
words next to the things in the pictures and the
colour of the letter I/i .Check comprehension.
-Point, listen and repeat.
- Ask Ss to point to the letter I/i. Have them
listen and repeat the sound of the letter I/i . Tell
Ss to point to the chicken and the word
chicken. Follow the same procedure with the
chips, the fish and the milk. Correct
pronunciation, if necessary.
- Play the recording again and have them -Ss repeat.

confident.
-SS say in front of the class.
- Play the recording again and call a few Ss to
say the letter I/i, and the words chicken, chips,
fish and milk in front of the class .

Activity 3. Point and say:
*Aim: help Ss to practise pronouncing the
sound of the letter I/i and remember and say
some new words: chicken, chips, fish, milk..
*Procedure: -Look at the picture and - Have Ss look at the picture again and discribe.

- Let them point to the chicken and say the

those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -Work in pairs or in groups.

new words: chicken, chips, fish, milk.
