WEEK 25 Monday, March 28th 2022 ST2: 5AT4; ST3: 5BT3 Period 61 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Lesson 2 (1,2,3) A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the seasons in the other speaker’s country. - Sentence Patterns: What’s ___ like in your country? − It’s usually ___. There is / are ___. - Vocabulary: spring, cold, wind / summer, hot, flowers / autumn, cool, rain / winter, very cold, snow. 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love themselves, love nature. - Know how to protect yourself 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the seasons. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: spring, cold, wind / summer, hot, flowers / autumn, cool, rain / winter, very cold, snow. C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book. - Audio track: - Song: Travel song - Computer & Projector: CDs player, stereo, TV, STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm up - Spend a few minutes having the class play Bingo, using the weather words learnt in Lesson 1. - Ask pupils to make sentences with these words - Lead into new lesson. * New lesson Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. - Tell pupils that they are going to read a story in which Nam and Peter are talking about the seasons and weather. - Introduce picture and ask some questions about the situations in the picture: ?Where are they? ?What are they talking about? - Ask pupils to look at their book and listen to the tape - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs. - Go around and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. - Others give comments. - Give comments. Activity 2: Point and say - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about the seasons and weather, using: What’s ... like in your country? It’s usually ... There is/are ... - Ask pupils to look at the pictures and teach the vocabulary: spring, summer, autumn, winter - Say aloud the word for pupils to repeat. - Call some pupils to repeat the words. - Ask pupils to write down in their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the pattern. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation Activity 3: .Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about the seasons and weather. - Get pupils to work in pairs to ask and answer. - Remind them to use the questions and answers in their books - Set a time limit for pupils to practice - Go around the class and offer help, if necessary. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback. C. Production - Summary the lesson D. Homework - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Tell pupils to practice chanting again at home. Tuesday, March 29rd 2022 ST3: 5AT4; ST5: 5BT4 Period 62 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Lesson 3 (1,2,3) A.Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Give intonation sentences correctly. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped answers. Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening and speaking skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep your body healthy 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. B. Language Focus * Key terms - Vocabulary: Revision C. Instructional Resources - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book. - Audio track: - Song: Travel song - Computer & Projector: CDs player, stereo, TV, STAGE 2: LEARNING EXPERIENCES / LEARNING PLAN * Warm up - Ask pupils to sing “ The weather song” - Lead into new lesson * New lesson Activity 1: Listen and repeat. - Tell the class that they are going to practice saying the questions and answer with falling intonation. - Ask pupils to look at the book and listen - Play the recording for pupils to listen again and repeat. - Play it again to do choral repetition until they feel confident. - Ask pupils to say the questions and answers in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of class. Other’s pupils to give comments. - Gives comments. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 2: Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud. - Tell pupils that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the sentences. - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Ask pupils to listen again and circle. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. Ask the class to read the sentences aloud. - Give correct answers. *Key: 1. a 2. b 3. b 4. a Activity 3: Let’s chant - Tell class that they are going to say the chant: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant. - Put the class into three groups to practice chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers - Get them to practice chanting and doing actions in groups - Invite three groups to say the chant and do actions - Give feedback. C. Production - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern. D. Homework Thursday, March 31th 2022 S: 5BT1; 5AT2 Period 63 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW?
