Week: 23 Monday, February 19th 2024 Period: 89 UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPNED IN THE STORY? Lesson 1 (1-2-3) I. Objectives: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what happened in a story. - Pupils can ask and answer questions about what happened in a story. - Sentence Patterns: What happened in the story? – First, / Then, / Next, / In the end, _ - Vocabulary: King Hung ordered Mai An Tiem and his family to live on an island. The island was very far away. One day, An Tiem found some black seeds and he grew them. The seeds gave watermelons. An Tiem’s family exchanged the watermelons for food and drink. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what happened in a story. - Listen and number the pictures. - Read and fill the gapped story, using the words provided. - Sing the song Once upon the time - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: The song lyrics 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Every story has its lesson. Read more to learn more. - Love reading. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about a story in the past. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about someone’s opinions of a book/ story/ character - Sentence Patterns: What do you think of ___? − I think ___. - Vocabulary: the mouse, intelligent / An Tiem, hard-working / the older brother, greedy / Snow White, kind 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Be a good man. - Love reading books 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about someone’s opinions of a book/ story/ character - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Write about their favourite book, using the guiding questions. - Play the game Storytelling. - Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Be a good man. - Love reading books 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present....
