I. Aims :

Teaching aids: - textbook - handouts - Sheets of paper - chalk and board - pictures Techniques : writing-based Procedures : State/time Teacher’s and students’ activities Blackboard Materials 1. warm-up (7’) Checking the previous lesson - write on the board parts of a biography which are ordered randomly - call on a St to rearrange in order. - check the answer Transition: last time we studied components of and a biography; and words and phrases for writing a biography. Today we’ll how to write a complete a biography. - write down on the board: P.126: Unit 15:Writing a biography pictures 2. Pre- writing (10’) Activity 1: presenting an outline again ( quickly) - elicit what to be included in a biography from SS: Name, date, and place of birth, his or her family, social, cultural. Educational background - tell SS that a biography is normally organized in chronological, i.e. in the order of time that the events take place. Graham Bell - Elicit the order of the paragraphs - invite class opinions and make corrections in front of the whole class. Small board cards 4. Post-writing (5’) Speaking: - put SS into pairs - ask SS to talk the life of someone famous - go around giving help where needed - if time allows, call on some SS to present a short biography of the writing Handouts + sheets of paper 5. Homework (1’) - Ask Sts to write a biography of famous person of their own choice.
