( Appendix ) ( expected : Yuri Gagarin) -Tell the groups to write down as many sentences as possible about Yuri Gagarin – who he was, what he was like. - The group with more correct sentences about him wins the game. -Set a time limit and let SS start the game. -Read the groups’sentences and check with the class -Declare the winner - Transition:-‘Yuri was an astronaut. What do you think an astronaut must be like? What are some requirements of astronauts?’ The listening today is about how astronauts are selected. - write down on the board : . Pre- listening (7’) Brainstorming (task a, p. 194) - Tell SS to work in small groups. -Ask SS to read the phrases in task a and check the things that are required of astronauts. -Ask SS to add more things that they think are required of astronauts.
