OBJECTIVES: Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use “Be going to” to talk about vacation plans. II. PREPARATIONS: Cassette tape, book. III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm – up: (5’) - Ask Ss some questions about their activities in seasons. 1. What do you do in the spring? 2. Do you usually go camping? 3. Where do you often go? 2. Presentation: (10’) - Explain new words. + vacation (n) + plan (n) + destination (n) + citadel (n) + to stay with someone + Uncle (n) + Aunt (n) + to visit (v) + be going to (v) - Ask Ss to practice new words. - Let them listen to the tape. - Ask them to play the roles of Ba and Lan. - Ask Ss to isolate the model sentence by asking them some questions: + What is Lan going to do this summer vacation? ] She is going to visit Hue. + Where is she going to stay? ] She is going to stay with her aunt and uncle. + How long is she going to stay? ] She is going to stay for a week. - Explain structure. What + be + S + going to + V……? S + be + going to + V …………… 3. Practice: (20’) - Put the sentences on the board. “I am going to visit Hue.” - Get Ss to ask questions and answer. + What are you going to do? +I am going to visit Hue. - Have Ss practice in pair. + I am going to stay with my aunt and uncle. + I am goig to stay there for a week. + I am goig to visit the citadel - Correct their mistakes. 4. Production: (10’) - Put the dialogue on the board which is only words. The words are cues. Lan Mai + What / do? + Where / stay? + How long? + What / do? + HCM city. Ha Long Bay. a hotel. 2 weeks. Visit / beach / swim. And you? - Have Ss practice. - Call some pairs practice in front. 5. Homework: (2’) - Ask Ss to learn vocabulary and how to talk about vacation plans.
