Có 3 mạo từ phổ biến trong tiếng Anh: A/An và The
Cách dùng A/An:
▪ Mạo từ A/An thường đứng trước danh từ đếm được số ít hoặc khi người nói muốn đề cập
đến một đối tượng không cụ thể: a student, an apple, a table,
▪ Mạo từ A đứng trước danh từ bắt đầu bằng một phụ âm, mạo từ An đứng trước danh từ bắt
đầu bằng một nguyên âm. Ví dụ: a pencil case, an atlas
▪ Không dùng A/An trước danh từ số nhiều hoặc danh từ không đếm được.
Cách dùng The:
▪ Sử dụng "the" khi bạn đề cập đến một đối tượng cụ thể mà cả người nói và người nghe đều
biết hoặc danh từ đã được nhắc đến trước đó
Ví dụ: The cat is on the roof. (Con mèo đang trên mái nhà.)
▪ The đứng trước các danh từ chỉ sự vật duy nhất (the sun, the moon, the earth, )
▪ The còn được dùng trong câu so sánh nhất.
Ví dụ: The largest city in Vietnam is HCM city. (Thành phố lớn nhất Việt Nam là TP.HCM.)
▪ Mạo từ The đứng trước tên một vài địa điểm
Ví dụ: His dream is to travel to the UK. (Ước mơ của anh ấy là đi du lịch đến nước Anh.)
▪ Mạo từ The đứng trước tên các danh từ chung như tên đảo, cầu, sông, tòa tháp,
Ví dụ: The Tower Bridge in London attracts millions of visitors every year. (Cầu Tower ở London

The ancient town of Hoi An lies on the River Thu Bon, more than 30 kilometers to the
south of Da Nang. Occupied by early western traders, Hoi An was one of the major old-time
commercial ports of South Asia in the 16th century.
Hoi An is famous for old temples, pagodas, tiled- roof houses and narrow streets. Tourists
can visit the relics of Sa Huynh and Cham civilizations. They can also enjoy the beautiful scenery
of the River Thu Bon, Cua Dai Beach, etc. In recent years, Hoi An has become a very popular
