GRAMMAR: 1.Verbs of liking + gerund / to- infinitive: Theo sau các động từ adore, love, like, enjoy, fancy, don’t mind, dislike, don’t like, hate, detest, là 1 V-ing/ to- V0 *Notes: với các động từ như : love, like, hate và prefer có thể sử dụng với cả 2 dạng V- ing/ to- V0 mà không thay đồi nghĩa. EX: I love eating/ to eat spicy food. Jane enjoys running. 2. Comparative forms of adjectives and adverbs: a. Adjectives: S +be +short adj+er + than ... S + be + more + long adj. + than EX: She is shorter than me ( I am) She is more beautiful than me ( I am) b. Adverbs: S + V + more/ less + adverb of manner + than EX: Can you walk more slowly? I can’t catch up with you. EX: There’s a festival in my village. The festival is very old. The Kinh speak Vietnamese. The Odu have the smallest number of people. 4. Simple sentences, compound sentences and complex sentences: EX: I enjoy playing badminton with my friends every afternoon. → simple sentence During Tet, Vietnamese people buy all kinds of sweets and they make a chung cake and day cake. → compound sentence While the elephants are racing, people cheer to encourage them. →complex sentence. 5.
