Objectives: Teaching aims: Students learn how to express what they do in their free time, to invite or suggest some one and reply to an invitation or suggestion. They can tell about their favor and their favorite TV program II. Preparations: Textbook, pictures, cassette player. III. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm - up (5’) - Ask questions about their favorite TV programs + What do you usually do in your free time? + Do you often watch TV + What kind of program do you like best? - Listen to the teacher and try to answer 2. Presentation (20’) - Show students the schedule of the TV program and ask them where they can read it - Ask them to look at the picture and guess what the members of Hoa’s family are doing - Introduce the conversation - Play the tape for the students - Ask questions to elicit the new words and new structures 1. Adventure (n) 2. Cricket (n) 3. To sound (v) 4. Boring (a) - Mention the structure “Like / prefer + to infinitive” I prefer to listen to music in the evening. Practice (12’) - Let them practice in pairs - Call some pairs to do the conversation before class - Ask them to do the test by themselves - Call some students to give their answers - Correct the students’ mistakes Lan invites Hoa to eat dinner with her family Lan wants Hoa to watch TV before dinner Hoa’s family doesn’t have a TV because her aunt and uncle don’t like watching TV. Hoa likes spending time with her aunt and uncle at night Lan’s family always watches TV in the evening - Practice in pairs - Role-play the conversation before class and requested - Do exercise by oneself 4. Production (5’) - Have Ss discuss the question: What are the benefits of TV? - Work in group to discuss the question 5.
